Ultimate Winter Activities In Aspen

Ultimate Winter Activities In Aspen

Before you go, you’ll want to ensure reservations are made well in advance for everything from breakfast to dinner, ski rentals to lift tickets. This will make your time more enjoyable for the ultimate winter activities in Aspen. I suggest getting an app for your phone to keep track of all reservations. Make a quick call or email to your hotel to see if they have preferred ticketing or rentals at any of the spots you’ll read about below.

Aspen is tucked away between four mountains: Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk. You’ll be captivated by the most charming ski town of Aspen. It has come far from it’s humble miner beginnings and become a flourishing city. Two visionaries in the 1950s saw it as a magnet for great minds .

Begin your stay at the Hotel Jerome. It’s a charming hotel that comes straight from the history of the town. It’s been reimagined in the most beautiful way. From there go explore the city or get your gear and head to the slopes. Keep scrolling to see my full recommendations!

Contemporary luxury and historic heritage come together in this boutique hotel with it all. Living spaces feature floor-to-ceiling windows for taking in Aspen’s glorious surroundings, while mounted wooden deer heads, tree-stump lamps and cowhide chairs embody its mountain spirit.

You can book at the spa for a world class treatment (I’d suggest the CBD massage after days of skiing!) to unwind and relax. The treatments harness indigenous minerals, botanicals and essential oils to nourish and energize body, mind and soul. Include some extra time in your visit to the spa and enjoy the steam showers.

My morning go to: Grab a coffee at Felix Roasting Co. and get out the door to explore. They have an extensive menu of specialty drinks, each meticulously infused with Felix’s house-made non-dairy milks, proprietary syrups and tonics, and custom spice blends. If you love coffee, you’ll love this spot.

ASPENX ski rentals expedite and elevate the typical rental experience with a line-free dedicated fitting time, premium skis, Carv Digital Ski Coach, boots, poles, and helmets.

They have heated boots that are included based on availability. Complimentary ski + snowboard storage, and overnight equipment transfer to the mountain of your choice are also included.

If you’re looking for  a one-of-its-kind experience, immerse yourself in the partnership with fine art photographer Gray Malin. Lounge in the mountain sunshine in your own cabana or lounge chair while overlooking Aspen Highlands, as you sip champagne and indulge in light bites from our culinary team.

Gemütlich: a feeling of warmth, friendliness, and a sense of belonging. That is the feeling owner, Karin Derly, wishes guests experience in this charming candle-lit hideaway. The food is deliciously wonderful and the ambiance of it all just makes the experience all the more delightful.

Your dress code: Dress in as cozy and fabulous a way as the restaurant is warm and inviting. Below you’ll see my favorite basic “essential” dress, aired with the most stunning coat that will make you feel right at home.

Top Three Things To Do In Aspen (Outside of Skiing):

  1. Explore the Aspen Art Museum. Rich in history and culture, this spectacular museum is a must see for me. You can grab lunch at the Rooftop Cafe as well.
  2. Pick up a hat or a pair of boots at the famed Kemo Sabe. It’s an adventure just going in, so take the time to check it out and enjoy.
  3. Book a massage or facial (or both!) at Remede Spa. It’s located at The St. Regis and is a wonderful spa that embodies the environment of the area. The oxygen lounge is a much appreciated amenity, given Colorado’s altitude.
